Spend a Seasonal-Inspired Autumn Day With Me

Spend a Seasonal-Inspired Autumn Day With Me | Growing Up Herbal | Spend a seasonal-inspired autumn day with me from start to finish to see what living slowly and intentionally in autumn looks like.

The air is chilly, colored leaves are falling around my home, and in the morning the frosty grass crunches beneath my feet. It’s November—that magical moment where autumn and winter overlap, and a quiet transition begins. If you aren’t paying attention, you might miss it entirely.

Autumn has always been one of my favorite seasons because it reminds me that change is both expected and necessary. Looking back, I can see so many seasons where life shifted in ways that didn’t feel comfortable in the moment, but in hindsight were good, refining, and purposeful. I’m in one of those seasons again now. And instead of clinging to the past with white knuckles, I’m learning to loosen my grip, open my hands, and let the sands of time slip through my fingers at their own pace.

Has seasonal living helped that mindset? I think it has, at least in part. My daily adaptogen ritual and my faith definitely play big roles too. But more than anything, nature continues to teach me—gently and consistently. It is older and wiser than me, after all.

If you want to learn more about the lessons autumn can teach us and embracing seasonal living, I invite you to spend some time with me walking through an autumn-inspired day. You can do this as many days as you’d like. Feel free to change up the reading materials and the recipes to suit your fancy, of course, but practicing this routine will help shift your mindset to a more seasonal one over time.

Start in the morning by making this cup of tea and working through the journal prompts while you sip your tea and wake up. Don’t forget to listen to this autumn playlist while you do it.

Next, increase the autumn vibes in your home (or work space) by diffusing these autumn essential oils off and on throughout the day. Keep that autumn playlist going softly in the background too!

Around 3-4 pm, take a break for another cup of tea and read through this post on how to embrace the season of autumn, how decorating your home for the season can make it a more cozy place to be, or how to find your direction for the coming year before heading back to whatever is on your to-do list for the day.

Finally, in the evening, make a batch of this autumn bath salt, draw a hot bath, sprinkle some salt in, and mix well. While your bath is filling, make a cup of this autumn inspired golden milk to sip while in the bath. It will help you sleep well!

Enjoy!
