67 Free Best Selling Novels to Add to Your Summer Reading List

If you’re anything like me, you have a bit of extra time in the summer to indulge in some extra reading. While reading happens on a daily basis for me, in the summer, I like to fill my summer reading list with novels, particularly best selling ones because I find that I tend to enjoy those most.

Today, I’m sharing 67 free best selling novels that you can add to your summer reading list. Yes, you read that right — I said 67, free, and best selling in the same sentence! Read on to see you to get access to these popular novels!

I have a stack of books in my bedroom that I’m currently reading. Yes, a stack, and no, I do not read them every day. The books here are mostly non-fiction and therefore, easy to dip in and out of whenever I sit down at night to read.

However, come summer, I make a list of fiction books I’d like to make my way through as a part of my summer reading list.

Most years I borrow books from friends or order used copies through Amazon, but this year, I stumbled across a free way to get access to some of the newest, best selling novels of the year, and I’m loving it, so I knew I just had to share it with you.

How To Get Access To Free Best Selling Books

First off, this is the part that costs a bit of money, but to me it’s money well-spent and so worth it.

Each year, Amazon releases a bunch of popular books as free Kindle downloads if you are an Amazon Prime member, and this is how I’ve been able to get so many best selling novels to read this year.

Not only can you get free Kindle books by being a Prime member, but you get a lot of other perks as well. I won’t go into them all here because this post is about books and summer reading lists. However, if you’re interested, or if you want to get access to some of the best selling novels of the year for FREE, then definitely check out the Amazon Prime membership to see all the perks it comes with and join today. I think you’ll love it as much as I do!

Physical Books versus Digital Books

In order to get access to these books for free, you have to have the Kindle app downloaded on your phone or tablet (perhaps your computer too), which means the books will come to you in a digital format.

Now, if you’ve never read a digital book, don’t be put off. I love them, especially for novels.

Okay, so I love physical books (I mean, what homeschool mom doesn’t!), especially when they’re something I’m going to be using again and again. For me, this is mostly non-fiction books as I tend to pick them up from time to time to look something up or refresh myself on something I remember being in the book. However, I rarely, if ever, do this with fiction books.

In fact, I can’t remember the last time I picked up a novel and re-read it. Actually, I can. It was Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, and I re-read it in the car, on my Kindle app, while driving to Maine for a vacation five years ago.

So, there — I did re-read a fiction book, but it was a digital one. I don’t think I’ve ever re-read a physical fiction book I own. I’m not sure why. I suppose it’s because I always have something new that I’m reading and I don’t take time to go back to revisit old books.

Digital books are easily stored on your Amazon account. You can choose which ones to have downloaded to your device depending on how much space you have. I usually have 5 or so downloaded to my phone, but that number is totally up to you. You can easily find the chapter you’re own or search the book for a keyword to find something you’re looking for. You can even highlight and bookmark sections of the book, just like you can in a real book.

These are just some of the reasons I enjoy digital books, and if you’ve never given it a try, let me encourage you to go for it. Do something new! You never know — you may love it as much as I do.

Okay, so let’s get to the actual list of best selling novels.

Best Selling Novels for Your Summer Reading List

If you are logged in to your Amazon Prime account and go to this page, you will see a list of 67 books that are free to download this summer! The best selling books will be first on the page, but you can scroll through to find something that catches your eye. There are all sorts of genres of books, so there’s something for everyone here.

I like to start by browsing the books. The titles and covers definitely draw me in. If something catches my eye, I’ll click on it to open it up to read the description of the book. If it’s something I think I’ll like, I click the “Read for Free” button, and voila! It’s magically transported to my Kindle library for me to read.

You also have the option to purchase a physical copy of a book or even to purchase the Audible version if you’d like (which I also love, and you can get 3 months free right now).

Okay, so here’s what I’ve added to my Kindle library so far. Chances are, if I read fast enough, there will be more to come!
