When it comes to making natural skincare products for your kids, nothing beats homemade herbal baby oil for moisturizing and nourishing your little one’s skin.
Why?
Well, not only does it have the beneficial properties of the oil you use and the healing powers of the herbs you’ve chosen to infuse into it, it also lasts a lot longer than lotions, creams, and body butters.
This is a big pro if you’re like me and are busy or don’t want to have to make new lotions or creams every week for your kids.
But, I know what you may be thinking. You may be thinking that you don’t care for baby oils because they leave your little one’s skin greasy and slippery. Well that may be true in some cases, but today I’m going to give you some tips on making your own homemade herbal baby oil that is simple, nourishing, and will absorb quickly leaving your little one’s skin soft and smelling great!

This is a great post! I have only done this once but I really loved it and havn’t done it again! Thank you for all the herb recommendations! I can’t wait to try it again! I’ll be sharing and pinning this one!
I love DIY skincare products. So much better for our skin and for our little ones too! Nice article!
I’ve not done this but it’s been a few years since I’ve had a baby in the home. However, I know some of my readers would enjoy this recipe. Pinning. =)
This recipe can be used for adults too Jessica… especially as we get older and our skin changes! Thanks for your comment!
Great post! I made herbal teas for my daughter when she was a baby, but never did the oils. I should have though– I gave her a massage every day!
I will have to make this for my 11 month old!
I love the lightness of jojoba oil! I have found it to be well tolerated by most 🙂 Thank you for your informative post. I’ll be sure to keep this in mind when I have my own little ones!
This sounds lovely. I was stuck with Burt’s Bees products when mine were little, too bad.
Burt’s Bees products were actually some of the first natural products I used too! I loved them and they really helped me move towards being more aware of toxins in skincare. I’m not sure how “natural” they are these days, but I have a special place for them in my heart!
Lovely post Meagan! Thank you for sharing a wonderful, safe option for baby’s delicate skin!
This is great! I have never made any infused oils, but I love DIY natural body products.
I used to make this sort of thing for my baby but now that she’s grown I’ve stopped. You have inspired me to start again. Thanks!
I have just started infusing herbs in oil and I love it!
