Honeysuckle. Nothing signifies summer to me like seeing thousands of honeysuckle blossoms along the creek bank here in the South. Honeysuckle not only smells and tastes great, but it can be used to create herbal remedies that are good for your body, too.

Can the Honeysuckle Syrup be canned so it will last longer?
Probably, Bonnie. I’ve never done it, but canning it will probably decrease the theraputic value of the honeysuckle itself due to the heat.
Can the honeysuckle oil (essential) be substituted?
I wouldn’t suggest ingesting any essential oils unless under the supervision of a clinical aromatherapist, but you can use essential oils on their own for their health benefits. You’d need to research what those benefits are as sometimes the benefits between using an herb in whole form and using it’s essential oil vary. I hope this answers your question, Mieka.
