Today is Isaiah’s 7th birthday, and that means today is HIS day!
With four kids in the house, it seems that Dean and I are constantly trying to teach the boys to share and to think of each other first, and although we do spend regular one-on-one time with each of the boys, the majority of our time is spent together… trying to get along and live in peace. So, it’s nice to have a day all of your own every now and then where you get to be in charge, and everyone else is good with that.
Today is Isaiah’s day, and that means that he gets to decide the meals we eat as well as the games he and the bros play. He tried to convince me that we shouldn’t do schoolwork today since it was his birthday, but I didn’t go for that. (Nice try, bucko!)
Now, we don’t do big, elaborate birthday parties for each of the boys (we save those for the yearly Cousin’s Party), but they do get to choose what they want to do for their family birthday celebration. This year, Isaiah kept it simple. He decided that he wanted to go out to eat at one of his favorite restraunts in Johnson City becasue they have “clams” before going out for frozen yogurt for dessert. We’ll also be going to Me-maw and Pa-paw’s house tonight for his birthday dinner, and then we’ll be celebrating his birthday at Mum-mum and Pop-pop’s house with all his cousins soon.
So, seeing how this day is all about Isaiah, I thought I’d tell you a bit more about this great kid and share some photos of him growing up over the last 7 years.
Isaiah Over The Years
Isaiah is a sweet kid. He’s a bit wild and crazy, but he has a good heart. He’s always thinking of others, he likes to share, and when he grows up, he wants to be a chef or “someone that does stuff with nature.” What that means… I’m not sure. LOL! He changes his future profession like the weather changes, but it always revolves around food or nature.
He was my biggest baby and the quickest birth. I almost had this kid on the side of the road… no joke. You can read about his birth story here. Now, he’s the skinniest and the slowest. Go figure! In general, he tends to be very neat (his handwriting and artwork in particular), and he’s always happy and has a big smile on his face.
Below, you’ll find some photos of Isaiah over the years. Looking back over these photos brings back so many memories. It’s crazy how much time has passed and how quickly he’s grown! No matter how fast it seems to speed by, though, I’m looking forward to the coming years and watching him continue to grow!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and getting to see this sweet boy grow up over the years. I feel VERY blessed that God chose me to be his mama!
