Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and I’m getting really excited. Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays! I love celebrating love with my love. (Too many “loves” in that sentence??)
Not only am I thinking about what little something to buy for Dean, what to write in his card, or about the fun we’ll have on our traditional Valentine’s Day date to Cafe Lola in Johnson City, but I also find myself in a creative kind of mood—wanting to make all sorts of lovely herbal body care products. Is it just me, or do you do this too?
This year, I decided to put together a lovely romantic herbal bath blend and share it here with you. This blend is easy to make, and it can be stored and used as needed. It’s good for the skin, and the scent is lovely. It can be used alone or with your partner, and it can even be packaged and given as a gift!
Enjoy, and Happy Valentine’s Day, friend!
Romantic Herbal Bath Blend
Ingredients:
- 4 parts Himalayan salt
- 4 parts rose petals
- 1 part hibiscus flowers
- 1/2 parts comfrey leaf
- 1/2 part sage
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Mix well. Store in a labeled jar in a cool, dry place.
- To use, place Romantic Herbal Bath Blend ingredients into a muslin drawstring bag and tie shut. Place this bag in your bath water as the tub fills. The hot water will dissolve the salt and soak into the herbs, extracting not only their beneficial properties but their color as well. The result will be a floral scented bath water with the perfect tint of pink for your Valentine’s Day celebrations!
This Romantic Herbal Bath Blend also makes a great gift to give to friends and family. Simply layer your ingredients in a quart-sized glass Mason jar, place a metal lid on the jar, cover the lid with a square piece of Valentine’s Day themed fabric, place the metal ring over the lid and fabric, and tighten to seal. Lastly, put a pretty label or tag on the jar (don’t forget the directions on how to use it), and it’s ready for gift-giving!
Speaking of Romance
Herbal aphrodisiacs have the ability to relax the body, open the mind, and stimulate the nerves. They often trigger feelings of love with that special someone, even when that special someone is you!
If you’re interested in learning more about herbal aphrodisiacs and how to use them effectively, as well as the truthful answers behind the other two common misconceptions surrounding herbal aphrodisiacs, let me invite you to the Herbal Aphrodisiacs Intensive by the Herbal Academy.
This 3-part intensive on herbal aphrodisiacs and sexual health (that I helped to write) explores this topic further. In this intensive, you will learn all about the physiological processes that play into your sexual experience, and you’ll get an entirely new approach to using classic botanicals to not just support, but enhance your sex life.
